Top 10 Reasons to Participate in the 9th Annual STIX Collegiate Exposure Tournament -- June 2021
1. No other event provides players + parents access to such a diverse group of coaches from the NCAA, U SPORTS, and the ACAC over the course of an entire weekend;
2. Once STIX Cup begins, the collegiate coaches run the entire weekend. They are engaged, excited, and expect the same from all players and parents involved;
3. You have the opportunity to learn the In's and Out's of the post-secondary hockey process, especially concerning (a) Recruitment, (b) Scholarships, and (c) the Academic Admission Process;
4. We invite representatives from every Western Canadian team in Junior hockey to our event to evaluate the players participating, as well as network with the college coaches in attendance. In June 2019 alone, we had 60+ coaches/scouts from Junior hockey attend our 7th annual event;
5. Our host hotel Grey Eagle Resort & Casino is amazing -- in 2020 they will host our Hot Stove Banquet on Saturday, June 13th in the evening;
6. We will have other experts in post-secondary hockey (both male and female) presenting to players and parents throughout the weekend;
7. Our practice sessions and showcase games are the real deal -- official referees, music, accurate rosters, and all teams are lead by the college coaches;
8. STIX Collegiate Exposure is not your typical Summer tournament with 80+ teams at 6 different rinks with little/no opportunity to collaborate with the college coaches. Our #1 goal is to educate players and parents of the post-secondary options and the process to get there;
9. The number of players that have participated in the STIX Collegiate Exposure Tournament that have moved on to college/university hockey in the past 7 years is 100+. A few of the most prominent names to date include: Cale Makar (UMass-Amherst and Colorado Avalanche - NHL), Matt Marcinew (Denver and Springfield Thunderbirds - AHL), Robert Hamilton (Vermont and Stockton Heat - AHL), Logan O'Connor (Denver and Colorado Avalanche - NHL)
10. An opportunity to raise the STIX Collegiate trophy over your head!
